The number of citizens of Uzbekistan working abroad varies between 2.6 to 3 millions, Azim Ahmatov, senior officer of the External Migration Agency told a press conference on August 30.

The migrant workers can apply for concessional loans and financial assistance.
Some 3,462 apartments will be provided to families of migrant workers needing improvement of their living conditions in 2020.

The mechanism for repayment of loans obtained in Uzbekistan in Russian rubles will be offered since next year. Since October 1, 2019, banks will provide micro-credits to cover expenditures related to work abroad.

The national commission for external migration and department for migrant workers will be set up in Uzbekistan to handle issues of migrant workers.
